How can I make my beta fish less angry?

I have a male and female beta, though I do have them separated. The male tends to throw himself against the wall of his tank and flare A lot, especially when Im feeding him. Im not sure if hes seeing his reflection on the tank wall, or if he really doesn't like me. he doesn't do it in the direction of my female, so I don't understand why hes always so angry. What can I do to help make him happier?
 
Siamese Fighting Fish are named that for a reason. Your betta is naturally aggressive, as he should be. You didn't do anything wrong, he probably just sees his reflection and is trying to beat it up. To make him less angry just give him time. If you think he doesn't like you, he'll change his tune as soon as he figures out who feeds him.
 
He probably sees his reflection. Male betas are very territorial. Try putting background on your aquarium.
 
put a little gin into the fish tank and get him drunk. Guarantee he won't be upset about anything after that.

You could go to petsmart but im not sure it they will know what is going on. And you might want to get a different tank. Hope i helped! But just remember that Betas are naturally aggressive.
 
He's not angry. The males are just naturally aggressive. There's nothing you can do about it.
 
Maybe he's sees a reflection of himself and the food going into the water and he doesn't really understand the concept of the glass so he throws himself up against the glass trying to fight off the "other male" to get to the food reflection.
