I have a degree in electronics engineering and Have almost 3 years experience working as an engineer. I know a bit of design and did pretty good in school too. Do electronics engineers work mostly for big companies or small businesses or do they also work for themselves making some extra money on the side. For example , let's say they might be working for GE as their full time job. But on the side could they be designing a small circuit that boosts cell phone signals and sell the product through their own ways?
I am asking because it seems like they got all the skills needed for doing that and plus it's a lot of money that can be made with that . Or do most engineers work for companies and design stuff for their bosses all their lifes?
