How can I make money from photography?

I recently placed an advert online in which I advertised myself as a budding young photographer. I've now received a response to that advert from someone who'd like a few snaps, but unfortunatly, as I advertised myself as amateur, I'm not sure that they'll expect to pay me, particularly as this would be my first 'gig'. I don't have much in the way of complex gear, and I don't know all that much about photography - but I'd like to learn more and make some money from it all.

Do you think I'll be able to get a little money from this guy? Do I need hi-tech, massive cameras to qualify as a photographer? How can I get by in photography? Should I be shot for asking such daft questions?

if you are new, watch a few youtube videos read a few articles on angles and such.. Bottom line when you get there.. lie through you fawking teeth.Act,walk talk like you are 10 feet tall and bullet proof and hung like a horse..Give a real strong illusion about you know what you are talking about and you'll do just great ;)
