We converted a garden tub into a combo tub/shower a few months ago. The shower faucet is at the opposite end of the drain due to availability of pipes, which didn't seem like a big deal until we started using the shower and noticed that there appears to be a gentle slope to the tub to direct the water toward the drain. This causes water to accumulate around the wide rim. We sqeegie it after each use, and put extra silicone sealant around the base, but recently noticed that it is seeping through the outside wall despite our best efforts. The plumber says we'll have to replace the entire tub. Any other, less expensive suggestions? It seems like the problem would go away if we could reverse the slope.
