How can I kill docks in my garden??

Can I cut the tops off the dock, poke down into the root and pour in a vinegar mixture or boiling water, they are growing in the borders and garden?

What about salt water or even a bleach mixture on the patio where they are growing out??

I would not use bleach on the garden itself as I know its toxic but on the patio it might work???

Any clues would be great, im trying to avoid the digging them up as there are so many or having to buy anything to treat them!!
