how can i keep my dog from whining to get in the house?

everytime he gets in my parents noze and he picks up stuff and run away. should i ignore it when it whines and barks? it kinda hurts me...
 
Don't lock your dog out for God's sake!
if he hasn't grown up to be an outside dog (AKA spent most of his early life outside, in Dog house) It's practically torture to lock him out. If they grew up thinking they're supposed to always be inside with their kin, that being the family, they feel punished when put outside and not let in
