How can I hook up my stereo speakers to my TV?

I have two large stereo speakers that I think would be great to attach to my TV. The speakers have the black and red tabs on the back. Is it possible to hook these up to my tv?
 
first you have to get a stereo system and their should be the red and black tabs on the back. also, their should be a couple of wires that have two ends on each side of the wires.either one can go in red or black. pull back the tab and insert the end of the wire and the same with the other side. then let go of the tab and that should lock them into place. hook one end on the speaker and the other end on the system and that should make your speakers work but first you have to hook up the system to the tv.
