What are the best ways a college student can help out the situations in Africa? There's so much wrong but I guess I am specifically referring to the power struggle and violence in Zimbabwe.

If there was an answer for that im sure many would have did it by now and there wouldn't be a problem . We had our civil wars years ago and they only ones that could stop that was the winner and we all know that was the north . Guess you just have to let nature take its course

I cannot think of one stable country in the whole of Africa so I think you will be taking on one hell of a job. Even in South Africa probably the richest country in the continent has a huge crime rate.

I presume you are a student in the UK or the States.. Is there nothing local you could put your efforts into? Mugabe and his toilet of a country means nothing to you. Why not concentrate on the invasion of immigrants that threaten the very fabric of the society that YOU live in?
Mass immigration is the greatest threat that Britain has faced since the second world war. Even our erstwhile foes, the Germans, and the rest of Europe are experiencing the same insidious infiltration. Normally, population enrichment is a good and profitable phenomena, but when the invaders are intent on silently(or not) undermining the society by over-breeding and internal indoctrination, with the sole goal of bringing into existence, a Muslim Republic it ceases to be profitable, both financial and socially and becomes morally bankrupt.
I feel that if you value your lifestyle, your beliefs and your moral upbringing, then look within. Our NHS is vastly more important than Mugabe's anti-white f@@k up that he calls a country. As soon as the Zimbabweans? get rid of him they will have all the support they could ever have wished fior. Madam, look to your own.

Stay in school , get a degree in business and become
a political lobbyist or go to work for US Aid.
US Aid is currently helping distribute the millions of dollars
to 47 countries in Africa each and every year.

While it may surprise you - the US is not an uncaring, heartless
country . We give more even when the economy sucks than any
one else.

This would be a complete waste of time, effort, and money, and nothing could be put right. It has been tried over many years with constant piles of money thrown at them but they never learn so everyone is wasting their time. Leave them to fight as this is what they do, and it is a way of life to these people. No one can ever change that, but in years to come they might have learnt a big lesson but they will have to do it themselves. Some of these Countries get past the Help, Money or anything else and they have to learn the hard way. Tough but that is how it is...

You must be very arrogant if you think you can help end "violence, injustice, and starvation" in Africa, or anywhere else in the world. You could try and attempt to help it in some way, to give yourself a false feeling of great achievement, but in the end, if billions of dollars in aid money, and millions of attempts by other people and governments to end it hasn't helped, chances are that you probably won't be able to END it either.
