To be honest it didn't hurt me at all. So she may not hurt either. However, slow is best. As in put it in, let her adjust, then go in a bit more and so on. It may be frustrating for you but tell her she NEEDS to tell you how it feels. The first time can be hard for some girls.
I was lucky. Most of the stories I hear/read are not as easy as mine.
