Decrease your dose by 1/4 every four days. You'll need to open the capsules and guestimate how much a 1/4 is - dump the 1/4 - take the rest. Keep it at that pace and you should be fine. That's how my doctor had me go off it.

Best wishes,

I was wondering the same. I get HORRIBLE head-zapping feelings and I get VERY physically ill. I feel like I need to take the stuff for the rest of my life. :(

I was only on it for three months (not for depression, but for nerve pain). It did nothing for my pain and gave me insomnia. I stopped cold turkey. I was on 60mg per day. I had absolutely no withdrawals. My Mother-in-law was on the same dosage and and she stopped CT as well, with no withdrawals.

Everyone is different, so I would ask your doctor how to stop. He/She might have you taper slowly.

Good luck.

wow...i thought i was the only one who had those symptoms when i dont take my cyrabalta....do you still take them or have you gotten off??

Hello,
I would just like to add that Cyrabalta withdrawal must be a slow taper. I withdrew too quickly. I tapered from 60 mg/day to 0 in 5 days. For the next 7 weeks I spent everyday on the couch, unable to leave my home due to the extreme dizziness I felt. I had the strangest brain zaps which left me shaky and weak. I was unable to eat and could not focus to read. The only thing that helped me was warm baths to ease my aching legs and lots of water to keep myself hydrated.
Please do this under your doctor's care. I was so frightened and will never touch this medication again. I was only on it for 4 months for nerve pain but when my drug plan would no longer cover the Cyrabalta (which was going to cost $200/ month.) I had to stop taking it.
My best wishes!

Daisy, I completely agree. I was only on Cyrabalta THREE WEEKS, on a very small dose, when I went off it due to side-effects. Per my doctor's advice, I cut the dose in half for a few days, then went off it. I thought I was going to DIE! I had to go back on it and taper down literally by granules. That took several more weeks, and even after all that, I still went through WD when I stopped. I would not take that medication again even if you paid me! (BTW, my doctor didn't believe my symptoms were from the Cyrabalta, so I had to do all this tapering on my own.)
