...for damages caused? my son has been summoned to appear in court because he hit another car and has no money to pay for the damages right now, his insurance company has refused to help him pay for the damages because they claim he made a late payment and at the time of the car accident,his insurance had elapsed and according to their records, it was showing in-active so they cancelled it,the the owner of the damaged car,(the paintiff) is claiming an exaggerated sum of money amounting to about $7310 to be paid to him,he has even submitted copies showing that his own insurance company spent that amount to have his car fixed....honestly the damage caused to the plaintiff's vehicle was not too much compared to the money being claimed,i feel there is an exaggeration somewhere but i dont know how to convince them about that
