how can i get the clock on back on the external screen on my lg enV touch?

for some reason my clock on my phone went away, it works fine on my internal screen. ive already tried going onto my settings and changing the date format and that didnt work, so then i tried going on the shortcuts menu and using the clock wizard and it still didnt work.
any suggestions?
