How can I get rid of the food smells whenever I cook?

I love food but I can't stand the smell of cooking once I'm done, particularly the smell of steaks and other meat. I don't have a grill so its not like I can cook it outside. So what can I do to get rid of the smells?
I cook on a stove.

I have this problem too - I live in a tiny flat and have just discovered "cooks" candles. they're tea light size and one candle gets rid of all the cooking smell.... never a great thing - especially when your laundry is drying! Good luck!

Enjoy the smell! I don't really know I guess you can get a fan. Or turn the fan on your microwave, microwave is broken but the fan works :)

Leave your doors and windows open while cooking if not too cold and also afterwards for awhile. You can also get a cooking hood above your stove and leave it on all the while you're cooking. This helps a lot. Use an automatic air fresher like lemon or citrus and place it above one of your cupboards in the kitchen.

Open the windows whilst cooking, close them to serve up and eat.
Open again afterwards and maybe even position a fan to blow across the kitchen and aimed at the window.
