You would probably just have to bust open some thermometers to get mercury. You probably would not want to get your hands on it anyway. It is toxic.

You don't want to get Mercury on your hands.

It's poisonous and can be absorbed through the skin into the blood stream. If just a small amount of Mercury gets to your heart, it will kill you... probably slowly and painfully. Your heart may even explode.

That's why it is a controlled substance and is not sold in stores.

go buy some thermometers that say "Mercury" if those are hard to find...a lot of Thermostats for HEarting and cooling of houses have them. Go to Home depot and Break some and sneak out with a bag full of it.

ALL florescent light bulbs have a drop of Mercury in them. Break a bunch of them over a cookie sheet, and look for it....Remember, it's just a drop, and like these other people have stated, it's VERY TOXIC to handle, and breathing the fumes off it can be deadly as well.
