how can i get my engine started on my dirt bike?

i cant seem to get my engine started on my dirt bike its brand new and before i got it the guy started it and took it for a spin. its a 125cc giovanni and i cant get the engine to even make a sound what am i doing wrong????
 
check your gas and check for a spark. the old saying goes if it has gas and spark it will run. also make sure the ignition is on
