How can I get my cat to stop sitting on the lounge?

She is sitting on the fabric lounge and completely ruining it with her fur. We have tried spraying her with water when we catch her on it, but she sits there when we arent home/sleeping so she doesnt get caught! Is there a scent we can spray to stop her sitting there or any other solution??
 
there is a clear plastic runner you can buy for your carpet in front of the door, so you don't track dirt in on it. You can buy it by the yard. On the reverse side there are tiny pointy nubs to help it from moving on the carpet. Turn this upside down on your lounge and kitty won't like it at all. Simply remove it while you're home. Inexpensive to boot.
 
Cats some with two things - fur and claws.
Perhaps you should rather find a pet more suitable for your requirements.
You will in the meantime find that daily brushing will also help.
