How can i get my 7 wk old pomeranian puppy to sleep in her own doggy bed and not whine..

...and me give in to her? I bought her a doggy bed before i got her and i want her to sleep in it but she has this habit of going under the bed, sofa, love seat and when we ride in the car she wants to go under the seat. How can i make her feel comfortable so that she doesn't do that? What is a good way to to get her to understand that crying does not get her her way? thanks in advance
 
If she just needs something to maker her feel safe for the time, think about getting an empty cardboard box from the local shops. Put it sidewards so the openning is on the side and put the bed inside. It will be a bit like a cave for her. When she is older and is passed this stage just throuw the box away. :)
 
Be persistent and patient. Never give into to her whining while she is calling to you. If you do that, she is just training you to come/pick her up when she whines.
Remember your parents saying: 'this is going to hurt me more than you'...? Welcome to parenting a puppy!!
Well at the moment she is just trying to find out what she is allowed to do. Teach her from young with kind gentle handling. Never loose your temper just gently and firmly, put her back in her bed for the 1000000time. Give her a busy toy at bed time and ignore her efforts to get your attention.
Maybe she wants an enclosed bed? Try a crate with a blanket over it and your doggy bed inside?
What ever you do don't give up. Sounds like your baby is a feisty little one that is going to give you alot of joy with the right handling.
Lastly, consider puppy school. It is a great way to learn something new and meet other like minded people!

teddybear with an opening in the back and stuff in an alarmclock that ticks, it works as an artificial heartbeat and they think its a lil friend to sleep with. Also somthing with your scent on it might work.
 
For one thing your pup is way to young to leave her mother and litter mates. Poms usually do not go to their new homes until they are at least 10-12 weeks old. A 7 week pom is very small and many bad things can happen when you let them have the run of the house unsupervised. Keep her off furniture, one fall and she may break a leg as they are very fragile. Be sure not to step on them either, they love to follow people all over the house and usually under your feet.
Keep her in a box that she can not get out of or a small kennel with a blanket and a toy. Keep the box or kennel by your bed. Make sure you never leave a collar or harness on your pup at night. Collars are really a no no. It can get hung up on something and choke to death.
Do not take your pup anyplace outside of your own yard until she had had all her vaccinations.
 
Sounds like you got a puppy that was not socialized properly. Probably from a puppy mill, no reputable breeder would have let the pup go so young. You are going to have to do a lot of work with her. Try crate training so she has a place to go to feel safe, you are a stranger to her and she is scared.
 
Keep her in a crate for the time being, if she is trying to hide under things then she probably needs a roof to make her feel protected. It's difficult ignoring them when they whine, mine was terrible as a pup, i had complaints from my landlord who lived upstairs, but fortunately he was a dog person so didn't go too crazy. She will whine a lot but will get used to it eventually, and probably be happier in the long run. It's tempting to let her come in with you, but then you'll get a dog that is too clingy and have all sorts of seperation anxieties that will be a lot more annoying than a few nights with no sleep!

Good luck, it's hard but worth it when she sleeps through the night with no problems
 
i bought my puppy this little pillow that you put in the microwave and warn it up it makes the puppy thinks someone is sleeping with her.
 
She's 7 weeks and hiding. She misses her litter mates. Buy a kennel and keep her bed in it until the crying stops. Then, when she's old enough, remove the door and that will be her safe place. Make sure that when she's kenneled, you have stopped feeding her 5 hours before bed so she doesn't potty in her cage. Accidents happen, tho.

Oh, buy a kennel that's bigger than she will be when full grown. Grab a large towel when in the car and wrap her in it. Make it her safe place.
