So from January last year up until September last year, I had started running every day as well as doing push ups and pullups. I got up to about 3 miles a day outside(sometimes more) as well as 100 pull ups and push ups a day. I was eating healthy and was pretty motivated. I worked a very "laborless" job so I had enough energy to go running and do my calisthenics after work. I felt like absolute crap if I skipped a day (more disappointed in myself than anything) I couldn't even go on vacation without running. Well in September, I started a new job that was extremely labor intensive. Needless to say I didn't have that energy that I had before. I stopped running, eating healthy, doing calisthenics and I even picked up smoking. Since then I have gained much weight and even after being use to this new job, I still don't have any motivation to run after I get off of a 12 hour day. I always did miss eating healthy but healthy food for the most part requires cooking, and after I'm off of work I'm pretty lazy. So I want to get back in the swing of things and would like some advice on where to start. Many articles say when you start to run, to only run every other day till you get use to it. I can't do that. Once I do it, I HAVE to do it every day after, and I feel this is what maybe burned me out last time, but I find it very hard to not do it every day once I start. How can I get back to what I was doing before, while working a very labor intensive job during the day with long hours? Anyone else been in this position? What did you do? Just suck it up? I'm 19 m BTW.
