How can I get a band to play at school?

i live in toronto and my club is trying to raise money for a really good cause. one of our ideas is to get a bunch of bands to play. i have a few bands i would love to play at our school. but how do you get a band to play at your school? especially if its kind of a small school. would most bands do it?
