It might be solved by adding an extension. Here is another response:
Getting the Starshoot running with PHD was rather simple, a quick install of the ASCOM driver from Orion's website and I was able to select the camera from the ASCOM configuration screen. To reach focus I needed to add a 2" extension and have the focuser racked out about half way on my ST80.

:-D Try the Moon. It will stay in view long enough for you to figure out the problem. You can join cloudy nights and talk to other users.
 
Meade ETX telescope? I can't get a good focus of the Orion SSS camera II, I'm looking for tips to get a good focused image on my laptop screen. I would like to focus for starters on a nearby landmark object (a church tower). Now I get a blur image on my laptop screen. Normally I would get an image of some bricks of the tower on the screen, but I don't get a clear image. Any tips to get a clear image are welcomed. :-))
