How can I fix Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic graphic lags while using

radeon 9550? Here are my pertinent specs for my computer: It's 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 Processor with 768 MB of Rambus Ram. I'm using a radeon 9550 graphics card.

This is my problem: The game is playable in most areas, but there are areas, such as apartment complexes on Taris that lag out like no other or the sith compound on Manaan--the major problem was supposed to be Dantooine, but I never had the Dantooine lags. I have to leave the area that lags (which can take forever) save, and restart the game. The official support page says that ATI released a fix for that (Dantooine specifically) in one of their driver updates. I rolled back to that driver and nothing changed. I updated to the latest driver, and the problem got worse, so I did a system restore to my original state. The other thing that the LucusArts (the official site) said to do was to add some line in the .ini file, and this is supposed to help with the lags everywhere. I did that, and the lags stopped in some areas, but it really didn't fix the problem. I can't find any other solutions anywhere, and need some help. Thanks in advance.
