how can i fix my sidekick 08?

hi, i have an sidekick 08 and it now will not turn on. but when i pulg it in to charge on the computer via usb , it turns on and off never going 2 the main screen. sometimes showing a face with a tounge sticking out with stars over its head, or saying low battery while charging. please help
