How can I FIX my 2000 jeep cherokee sport ac compressor on my own?

I'm usually a natural air gurl but now it's Super HOT outside and ac is mandatory! I'm also pretty handy. My mechanic told me the compressor, expansion valve, and accumulator need replacing! Which = $$$ I don't have. I would like to fix myself. Any suggestions?
