I drive a 3.0cl 1999 i hit the curb on a snowy day and the front subframe is torn I think. It is the piece that the control arm is connected to. I was thinking maybe a replacement part and doing it myself or should I take it to the shop, and if I did how much would it be?

there are 3 thing in alignment caster camber and toe. a bent or broken subframe has a MAJOR effect on ALL these. on honda/acura if you hit a curb straight on you will bend the control arm but if you have the wheels turned you will bend the sub-frame every time. you can tell how bad by how crooked you steering wheel is (bet if you hit with right wheel its crooked to the right) if it past 2 o'clock you will not have enough adjustment to "set the toe" correctly as far as changing it this is a major repair everything in that front end is atatched to your sub-frame take it to a suspension shop for that repair. you may have also bent the knucle ck the distance between the tire and knucle on both sides of car if there a diffrence no matter how slight its bent too

Number one, have a mechanic look at it to see exactly what you need. If it is a sub frame pick one up at a salvage yard. You would want to have a shop do the replacement because your control arms and engine and trans are all supported by the sub frame and would have to be raised and secured to replace the sub frame.

You can probably pick up the broken part at a junkyard for about 100. Find out what exactly is bent. For safety I would recommend having a shop do the repairs
