How can I find out what speed (3 or optional 4) a 2002 dodge neon SXT is?

My girlfriends car is an automatic, it leaked all trans fluid into radiator so needs a new one, but the radiator type depends on what trans it has... Also the car is currently away in a friends garage (with zero trans fluid) so it would be nice if there was an easy way to tell without driving it.

Do you have the VIN #? You can look up online what each part of the VIN # means and it will tell you if it is a 3 or 4 speed.

VIN works, but also, if the shifter has a 3 position in addition to drive, it is a 4 speed.
