How can I find out if the Canon digital camera I ordered on Amazon is covered...

...under warranty? Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question.

I ordered a Canon digital camera on Amazon that cost $229 in April 2010. It was a great camera and we got a lot of use out of it, when it suddenly stopped working about 2 months ago. We thought it could be the battery pack, so we ordered an extra one, and that was a waste of another 40 bucks.

Here is a link to the camera: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SD940IS-Stabilized-Black/dp/B002LITT6U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1296539091&sr=8-3

Anyway, I want to know what to do. It has been less than a year and this thing isn't working at all, it won't even turn on and we can't get the pictures that are on there onto our computer.

We moved across the country and we can't find the original packaging of the camera, but I don't know if that matters. Since it is sold by Amazon LLC, I know that they have a record of the purchase and what not. We never registered it with Canon and I don't know if it's too late now. I would do more research, but I have dial-up and my connection doesn't seem to like the Canon site.

Are we S.O.L.? Should I just suck it up and order a new camera?

Thank you very much for the answers.
