How can I find out if my girlfriend is ready for us to have sex?

Are there any indirect ways I can find out if my girlfriend of 4 monthes is ready to have sex? We are both virgins and we have talked about it before, but we concluded that we would wait. But recently, we have been messing around quite a bit and getting very passionate. And on prom night, we will be staying in a hotel.

So how can I find out without bringing sex up in another conversation? Any tips?
And I DO want to marry her. Badly... :) <3
