...954cc bike. i bought it used? Its Honda cbr 954cc 2002. I bought used. The engine is almost out of oil. how can i find if it is the synthetic oil or reqular oil for me to add to it....Not to do a full oil change..

THANKs A MiLLIOn.

Usually dyno oil will be black cruddy looking. Syn oil will be more yellow-ish gold color. If it's almost out it means the last guy rode it ta-def without changing so most likely it's black anyway.

Owners manual won't help ya. It's riders choice on oil as long as it's the right viscosity.

To be on the safe side drain all the oil, change the filter and throw in some synthetic blend. It's better to just do a complete because there definitely some crud in the bottom of that oil pan and in the filter.

right it does not matter, reg oil & synthetic are both mineral oil,

reg oil is heat treated when processed, it has a long molecular chain,

synthetic is chemically treated, it has a shorter molecular chain, so is tougher longer lasting,

semi synthetic is well it speaks for its self,

they mix,

it was the old two stroke oils that did not mix ie mineral & veg oils like belray loved the smell, if you mixed them they turned rubbery & blocked the oil ways.
