How can I find an administrator for a past 401k plan from a Bankrupt business?

New member
I received a check from the Company's' administrator and held on to it until I was eligible with my new company . I in turn sent it and now it is no where to be found. I need to find the custodian of the check to prove that it was cashed by my current Company. They will not help me in this matter. I was told" Sorry about that" and to prove it before they will do anything. Thank you in advance
