(Wentworth Finance) database? I was curious about getting a small loan and filled out a basic enquiry form from Wentworth Finance online. Within minutes, I had 4 phone calls from various third parties all claiming to have accepted my application and then a call from Wentworth themselves telling me the same and asking for my card number to verify my UK banking status... Clearly I didn't give them anything and having searched on here and various searches on the internet, they seem like a bunch of crooks. However, whilst the damage has already been done to some extent in the fact that have some personal information of mine that they have clearly sold on, is there any way I can now ensure (data protection act?) that they immediately comply with my request for all personal information to be removed and not passed on to any other third party?
Maybe I'm wrong but from the little dealing I've had with them, they seem like absolute scum and really should be stopped from trading as they are ultimately successful in targeting vulnerable people who may be so desperate for the cash that they feel they have no alternative but to give their card details to prove their banking status or pay this 'broker fee' depending on the patter they get on the phone?
