How can I critique "Learning to Read and Write" by Frederick Douglass?

What are some good points and other criteria to put in a critique of the excerpt "Learning to Read and Write" from Douglass' autobiography? I don't want to critique his argument; I'd like to critique his style of writing, the use of metaphors, oppositions, etc. Any suggestion may be helpful.
