Going anon because this is a bit embarrassing...
About a month ago I saw a documentary on dust mites, horrifying parasites that feed off dead skin on your body and up to 10 million can live in a mattress. Since watching that documentary I have not slept one night in my mattress or even in the same room as it. I tried to construct my own sterile sleeping environment by attaching pegs to the wall studs in my living room and installing a hammock. In the hammock I have a flexible plastic tube that I sleep in after disinfecting each night before bed. There is a hole with an air filter near the head of the tube so that I can breathe but nothing can get inside.
Unfortunately, I've been having night terrors about the mites that cause me to spasm in my sleep and usually result in myself falling out of the hammock and ripping the larval sleeping sac. My sides ache from severe bruising and I lose sleep patching up the holes. Is there a safer sterile sleeping solution for me?
