How can I convince my parents to get me a cell phone?

I'm 13 and in the eighth grade. Basically everyone has a phone but me. I don't want a phone because everyone else has one or anything like that. I want a phone so I can talk to my friends. It really bothers me when I have to ask to use someone's phone, or nobody has a phone and I'm stuck. Don't tell me to help pay the bill because I'm broke, and my parents are very strict and if I try to argue I'll be grounded. Treating them with extra kindness won't work either, I've tried it. I've even asked them if I could have a phone for my birthday or Christmas, and they've said no. They tell me I can get a phone eventually but I need one now. Not to be a brat or anything, but I have a social life :/
