How can I construct a project that illuminates the culture of Afghanistan?

For english, I must construct a project (something creative, visual) that illuminates some aspect of Afghan culture. I want to focus on religion, but any ideas are helpful. Over the summer we had to read The Kite Runner, and The Places in Between. Both novels focus on the culture of the Middle East
