How can I connect this stereo speaker to my tv?

Ok this maybe be a silly question but I have two Emerson stand up speakers with red and black wires coming out of the back of each. They normally plug into a stereo but wanted to see if it could be used for my television as well. Any info helping to set it up or say it can't be done would be appreciated. Thanks
