How can I connect an XBox360 to my stereo receiver?

I am considering buying an XBox 360 Elite, but would like to ensure that I can hook it into my current sound system. I have a receiver that doesn't have any video pass-through, so I'm looking to plug the XBox video output (HDMI? Component?) directly into the TV, and the audio output (Coax? Optical?) into the receiver. So, my question is whether there's some way I can get an XBox to output Coax or Optical audio at the same time it outputs HDMI or Component video. Do I have to buy some sort of extra cable?
