How can I connect a swing set's chains to the metal pipe?

I'm in Africa (no huge hardwares nearby) and am getting a swing set welded together for my little boys. I'm wondering what some safe, strong options are for connecting the swings' chains to the metal pipe (at the top of the swing set).

Your first answer would work fine, that is how they are manufactured here in the USA. But since you are having the swing set welded together i the first place, why not have the link at the end of the chain welded right on to the top cross bar.
 
If you are getting it welded the just have the person also weld on some hooks that the chain will set in Or just loop the chain back around and attach it back to itself with a bolt or clasp of some kind. Just look at it every few month for wear.
