I have a few questions because I've heard so many different things. I will soon be finished with my BA and Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials in CA I want to clear then as soon as possible but I am not working for either a private or a public elementary school. I heard you can clear them by obtaining a Master's and the clear credential option but that you still need to take four classes and work for two years. Others say that that is incorrect that you must first be hired, then if your district offers BTSA you clear them with that. If they don't then your school would give you a form in order to complete your work at a college. My question is if I do complete my masters and clear credential program do I still need to go through BTSA? or can I complete my credential and masters at a university and take the four classes that take the place of BTSA and not have to do BTSA at my district? Sorry, I know it's a bit confusing but any advise would help. CA teachers only who are somewhat familiar with the newer policies, I would appreciate your answers. Thank You
