How can I change my verizon wireless phone?

Right now, I'm on a family plan w/ my parents and we just upgraded in Oct. to the HTC touch. Well, touchscreen isn't for me, so I want to get a LG enV3. I want to keep the same plan, so to get the LG enV3, would I have to pay the full price for it? or do I just get a new contract? And if i make a new contract, does it cost to end the HTC contract even though im getting the same 2-yr contract?
