In the modern era of baseball, starting after WWII, there have been three centerfielders for the Yankees that have careers worth applauding; Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Bernie Williams. Although Bernie could never match up to the 1st 2 players, he was one of the best centerfielders of his era and certainly one of 20 best of all time. Here is a list of the best CFers since 1946.
J. DiMaggio, Dom DiMaggio, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Fred Lynn, Kenny Lofton, Kirby Puckett, Duke Snider, Cesar Cedeno, Andruw Jones, Curt Flood, Carlos Beltran, Richie Ashburn, and Ken Griffey Jr.
Bernie Williams certainly belongs among them and way past quite a few.
