How can I build a control board for my wind turbine?

1. Use a self-regulated alternator. (They have built in regulators.)
2. BUY an automotive regulator of the correct amperage.

Building one is going to cost more than buying one.
Why re-invent the wheel?

the simplist thing i can think of is a voltage regulater just like on a car -

I want it to charge a 12v battery but I don't want it to overcharge it. what can I do?
