I have a friend who recently told me she liked me. We have been friends for a while now and she has been friends with my friends and I have been friends with her friends for years now but we only met about 6 months ago. She told me she likes me. I was being stupid.. and told her I like her too. I do like her... but I do not want to get into a relationship/date her because of the fact that we have such a tight circle of friends. I do not want to mess my friendship with her up (because she is really fun as a friend) and I do not want to hurt her. I also don't want things to be awkward.
How can I break it to her that I think it's best to just be friends? How can I salvage the friendship without things being awkward? (p.s... we've kissed several times already).
