I'm in an RV parked on a friend's property, but his wi-fi signal doesn't reach me well enough to use it reliably. We tried making an antenna reflector to go on his router, but it didn't make any noticeable difference. Neither of us has much cash to spend, especially since this is only a temporary situation. What's the best device to buy (repeater, receiver booster, transmission booster, high output router antenna, etc.), and what brand and model? I don't really want to spend over about $20 if possible, and in a perfect world, it would be something I could take with me for receiving wi-fi signals in other places. I know some devices work and some don't so please be specific, if you can.
How can I better receive a distant wireless signal?
