I work on cars myself (not familiar with bikes) and am trying to help my buddy fix his scooter. I haven't looked at it at all, but his friend says the coil (all-in-one coil/plug wire setup) needs replacing. He brought the coil over and there are just two plugs on the coil end and the other to the plug, or course. If I supply voltage to the positive and switch ground to the other terminal, I should be able to collapse the coil and induce a spark, correct? If so, are those scooters 6 or 12 volts? I'm not about to have him special order a 50 dollar part without testing it. Supposedly all fuses are good that's all I know about what was done...
