How can i become an author?

I love reading and writing and i want to become a author but how do i become a author i do not know how can some one tell me also people how think i want to be an author just for money no way i want to be an author because i like writing and i want people to see my stories so can some one please answer fast
 
Just start writing manuscripts of your work, go online and search 4 publishers, and start submitting them to them. Some no many will reject you even if ur story is good. if u really want 2 be an author start looking for a good publishing company.
 
I have been published for about three years now. Here is what I did:

After finishing my manuscript I reread it, edited it and made sure it was perfect (or as close as possible). I bought a copy of the Writer's Market book and searched online. I sent in various queries to publishing companies. Once I received a letter from one wanting to publish it I sent in my full manuscript (ONLY do so if they ask for it). They liked it and wanted to publish it.

However, something I did not do that I wish I had was get an agent. ALWAYS try to find a literary agent. They are very important and will help you on your road to becoming an author.
