How can I become a professional dance costume designer?

Well. You can start small. You can create costumes for a play or something.Then work your way up. You can enter a contest. Here in NY( I live there ) thier are lots of competions.But if you lose they always recomend you too an acting, modeling, or designing studio. But it will cost money. Like 2 thousand dollars. Plus 400 pictures of yourself or designs. Then a resume. And finally lessons. There is probaly a few more but I can hardley remeber it is a lot of work. Trust me I have been there.

A good first step is to go and volunteer to help out at the costume shop of the local theatre company or community college theatre group. They always need help, and you'll learn a ton.
