How can i become a car audio installer?

Im about to head off to texas tech and i want to get a job that will be fun for me. i have always been interested in car audio, and i would like to become an installer somewhere. I have no background with it and know very little about it, im very good at building stuff though, and i pick stuff up pretty quick, how long would it take to get mecp certified and if you have any suggestions that would be great,thanks
 
Well, I know a lot about a lot about different electronic stuff. (that was not a typo, figure it out.) If you are heading to T.T., that means you have a good head on your shoulders. Just look in the classified adds, and apply not as a high school graduate wanting any kind of job, apply as a college student wanting a job in the electronics industry, You will get the job.

You will learn things that will take your interests in other directions, each different direction will help you explore what you want to do.

You can get the job, just let your natural abilities lead your direction.
