How can I argue to my mom that wearing an earring isn't bad?

I'm a 15 year old guy. I pierced my ear two days ago. When my dad saw it he didn't really like it but didn't mind too much. But when my mom saw it, she freaked out. She says that I have to take it out now but doesn't have a reasonable argument. I need to know what to say to her that could change her mind. It is on the left so I already told it doesn't mean I'm gay.
 
say "Mom I understand that you have your views about the world. But you gave me my own name at birth because I was and still am an individual with my own views of the world. I don't see why I can't get an earring because It is not harming anyone. Im 15 mom I need room to grow and learn what I like and don't like
