How can a small business hire a temporary/part-time worker?

What is the best way to hire a temporary/part-time worker in a single member LLC taxed as disregarded entity? Just 1 person 4-6 hours a day 2-4 days a week depending on workload.

What are the implications as far as taxation, insurance, workers compensation, etc. and how to estimate true cost of the hired labor to the business (no benefits), beyond the hourly rate?

call a temp agency or day labor place - depending on the type of work involved- it will probably cost you $14/hr for a worker who is receiving $8 an hour, but you will have no payroll tax returns or tax deposits to worry about - the expense would be recorded as outside services or temp labor

not sure if many temp agencies deal with part-time assignments like that though
