I have a New Book out selling in the United States ,United Kingdom and Canada.
I want more exsposure and ways to sell them. The book is called "The Four Winds" by Melanie Marie Shifflett Ridner.I need to sell at least 6000.
This Book is through a Publisher and you do get Marketing but you also as the author have to try and sell it as well.

This is a poetry collection, right? It's *extremely* rare for poetry to sell well, regardless of its quality. Few people buy it, period. Six thousand sales seems highly unlikely.

I'm not sure how you'd go about it or how expensive it would be, but I would attempt to market its Native American-ness by having it for sale at every place I could find which sold Native American products, crafts, etc., regardless of tribe, type of store, etc. Get it in casinos, "Indian" stores selling crap from China that looks Native American, crafts stores from pottery to jewelry to leather goods, Indian-themed catalogues, etc.

That's one of the big drawbacks of self-publishing, even though for poets it's not the no-no it is for fiction: marketing. It's not what you're good at, and not what you want to do. To sell well, you'll probably have to invest a great deal more time and effort (and possibly money) into marketing than you did in creating the collection.

You have a Publisher who will publish Things written by People who have no idea where to use capital Letters?

Sorry, I wouldn't buy it based on the level of literacy displayed in this question alone. You might want to consider that before you start advertising too widely.

And you thought the writing was tough, huh?

Here are some general hints... If you have sold even one copy and made one new fan, in this day and age, chances are they will want to find out more about you. Maintain a website which is updated regularly. With such a distinctive name, it shouldn't be hard for people who want to find you to find you. The trouble is keeping them interested and talking to others. You could try publishing additional short stories to the site to keep people looking. Provide complete samples of the text - as opposed to just a synopsis - that people can forward to like-minded friends. That is, a couple of chapters on your website that people can read.

There are publicity companies who can generate exposure, but in my experience, you are able to generate interest online by yourself. Find online forums which would be of interest to your audience and become a regular poster AND reader. Don't bombard these forums with links to places where your work is for sale, but if someone writes 'Where can I find a book about this?' you reply, 'Try this...' with a link to your book. Look for conversations, including on sites like Yahoo! Answers, where people might ask 'where can I find a poem with this rhythm?' and post links.
